Gabe is pursuing a degree in both Political Science and Urban Studies & Planning at The University of California: San Diego.

In 2015, Gabe co-founded The Triton, a digital-first,
independent, student-run news source the University of California, San Diego.

He served as editor-in-chief from 2015-2017, focusing coverage on holding campus administrators accountable through Freedom of Information Act Requests, as well as student government elections, on-campus protests, and any statewide and national policy changes affecting the UC system. As of 2017, Gabe is News Editor at The Triton.

Selected Work 

In 2017, he wrote a retrospective piece on “The Compton Cookout,” a Black people themed party hosted by UCSD fraternies in Febuary of 2010. He also wrote a piece on students petitioning for a Disability Resource Center. He has also covered stories like Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor‘s ‘#BlackLivesMatter in the Trump Era’ talk being cancelled due to white supremacist threats and UCSD’s Chancellor endorsing fossil fuel divestment
