Gabe Schneider is a reporter and editor based in LA. He is a co-founder of The Objective, a publication that examines systems of power and inequity in journalism, as well as an advisor at LA Public Press.

Previously, he was an Assistant Editor at CalMatters. Before that, he was the Assistant Managing Editor at Votebeat, a pop-up nonprofit newsroom covering local election administration and voting in eight states. His work has been published in outlets like The Associated Press, MinnPost, The Texas Tribune, Los Angeles Magazine, and The Columbia Journalism Review

Gabe grew up in Los Angeles and went to UC San Diego, where he co-founded The Triton, a digital-first, independent, student-run newspaper. He also likes to cover campaign finance.
